Default Finding Players in Town

Yes, I did a search and searching is disabled. But this one drives me crazy and it happens to me all the time.

I am in a large busy area trying to find a group. I read the spam and message the person who is looking for someone with my skill set / class and I try to find them. I click CTRL and see all the names but there are so many players at that location it is hard to find the person.

I know there has got to be a way, other than asking them where they are to get over to them. I have ctrl-clicked their name in the message bar, etc. Other people show up immediately when I invite them at times, is there some secret way that I can't figure out to get over to players that message me without spinning around looking at a sea of blue names and trying to find them?

This is likely a stupid question, but a quick answer would be good. I've played this game quite a while and this particular aspect frustrates me to no end.

Just put there name in your invite list and add them. Than you can just double click their name and go right to them.

I think what she/he means is that it is hard to find someone when he's surrounded by hundreds of other people.

I would suggest whispering the person. Tell him to meet at henchies or at storage or at "the fire", "the lion statue", "the fat guy", etc...

It's always something simple like that, type their name in...duhhh. Thank you, now I won't feel like such an idiot when I am looking for people in town.

It can be annoying, yeah. I sometimes like to find the person in the town and click on them to see what type they are, and I am much more likely to join if it is a Monk advertising for more players because they are harder to get in a PUG. I do this now more than before because it seems there are more Warriors than ever and parties keep getting formed with 4 tanks and 3 Rangers and one spot is left for a monk.

Or even better: copy/paste. CTRL-C and CTRL-V work in both chat window (just for player names, after you click them to go into whisper mode) and party windows.

Okay I have a question partaining to this. What if you're trying to find someone to trade with, is there a way to select them immediately from the crowd?

I'm asking this because I saw someone selling a FDS, and i messaged them saying i'll buy it. So I look everywhere through the see of people, and the person finally PMs saying she already sold. I just want to know how the customer got to the seller so quick. It bothers me.

Thanks

Type there name to invite them to your Party, then click there name in the list, even if they haven't accepted, press Spacebar, and you'll follow and run up to them where ever they are.

To clarify for those who aren't familiar with this method yet:

When you click a name in chat, it automatically starts a whisper to that person. When the whisper chat box pops up, highlight the person's name and press Ctrl+C to copy the name. You can then click in your party invite window and press Ctrl+V to paste that person's name. Click the green "+' or press enter to invite that person and see where he/she is.

Another option (clearly not the best if you are unable to spell - and I sometimes have a rough time with it) is to just type the person's name into the party add line and invite them, just saves the clicking cutting and pasting.

Names with spaces in between each letter are particularly difficult to type in. That's probably why I haven't named any of my dudes H A G G A R D yet, and probably never will.
